Roman Jewelers Launches Educational Seminar Series (March 29, 2007 Flemington, NJ) Dozens of local residents recently got a glimpse into the fashions and trends of Hollywood and the Academy Awards. Whitney Sielaff, a Hunterdon County resident, is the Editorial Director and Publisher of National Jeweler Magazine. He shared some jewelry trends and secrets during the launch of a year-long educational seminar series sponsored by Roman Jewelers. The first presentation was held March 11th at Roman Jewelers’ Flemington store, and the second has been scheduled for April 21st, 2007 in the same location. These programs are free and open to the public.
Sielaff’s presentation provided guests with an overview of current jewelry fashion trends that were worn by the stars on the “Red Carpet” at the Academy Awards ceremony. Sielaff answered questions from audience members who asked about the differences between the various metals and stones that are used to create fine jewelry. He also discussed some of the watches worn by the celebrities.
According to Sophie Shor, Vice President of Roman Jewelers, Sielaff’s presentation was the first in an ongoing series for the community. “Roman Jewelers wants to provide information and educational programs to people in the area. In the past several years, we have presented many jewelry educational programs to schools and we have local scout troops visit our stores in Flemington and Bridgewater so that the children can learn as well. We are pleased to invite the community to learn directly from experts in the jewelry industry. It can be fun and educational.”
The next program is scheduled for April 21, 2007. The coffee bar and refreshments will be available starting at 1:00 PM. The presentation will start at 2:00 PM, featuring Bruce Pucciarello of Novell Design Studio. His program is titled “Platinum – Out of Africa.” Pucciarello will discuss his recent thrilling journey to the platinum and diamond mines in South Africa. He will illustrate his presentation with photos he took in the mines and on safari during the trip, and he will explain what makes platinum so precious. Bruce Pucciarello is an industry expert who has contributed to jewelry stories for the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and leading jewelry magazines.
