Most bench jewelers are so efficient soldering with traditional torchsoldering methods. Why then use laser welding, which may require additional time?

Laser Welder allows to create a stronger joint and leaves no seam lines. It also allows us to join parts or pieces together without removing heat-sensitive stones.

Roman Shor, president of Roman Jewelers and a true Master Jeweler, calls Laser welder a miracle bench tool. “A customer came into my store with an 18k gold ring with filigree and emeralds. The piece was a family heirloom. The prongs were worn and needed to be re-built. Even the thought of getting a hot torch anywhere near the filigree or the emeralds was impossible.”

Today Roman has a simple solution – laser welding. He admits that, before he began using laser welding a few years ago, he would not have attempted the repair. The gentle touch of the laser could do the job without threatening the filigree and the emeralds.
