The day you have dreamed about all your life – your wedding day – is getting closer and closer. As a matter of fact, it is almost here, and you are ready! Your wedding invitations are sent out, your dress is carefully hung in the closet, and your new white shoes are neatly tucked away. Engagement ring shines brightly on your finger and the wedding band is just waiting to placed on your finger. You are ready, except for…your wedding jewelry!
We at Roman Jewelers understand the importance of wedding jewelry for the bride. As a matter of fact, we take wedding jewelry for brides very seriously. Usually, the bride spends many hours going through magazines and visiting bridal stores in search of a perfect wedding dress. A bride’s wedding jewelry is as important as the dress. Jewelry that the bride chooses for her wedding day can greatly enhance her dress or not do much at all!
When it comes to wedding jewelry for brides, we usually ask the bride to either bring her dress in or, at least, bring us detailed pictures of the dress. If the dress is pretty simple, the bride can choose jewelry with more stones and sparkle. If the dress already has lots of beads and sparkly embellishments, then we recommend jewelry that is more modest.
The first thing to decide on when it comes to wedding jewelry for brides is the metal of jewelry – white or yellow. For white color gowns, we recommend white gold or platinum. For off-white and ivory gowns, the yellow gold will match the creamy tones of the fabric much better.
But what is a bride to do if she does not like jewelry in either white or yellow metals? There is an alternative, and many brides choose to go with that alternative for their wedding jewelry – rose or pink gold. These colors go perfectly well with either a white or an ivory gown and make wedding jewelry for brides look special.
Wedding Jewelry for Brides: Less is More
Keep in mind that when deciding on wedding jewelry for brides, sometimes less is more. For example, if you are planning to wear your hair in an updo style and would like to compliment your hairstyle and your dress with long dramatic chandelier earrings, forgo the necklace. You can also complement the earrings with a thin chain, with or without a pendant.
Many brides select pearl jewelry for their wedding day. The jewelry can be as simple as pearl stud earrings and a single strand pearl necklace or as elaborate as a double or triple-strand necklace and pearl drop earrings.
The main thing when deciding on wedding jewelry for brides is to focus on your personal style. Think of the jewelry that you wear every day. Small or large? Modern or vintage? Simple and elegant? Perhaps, avant garde? Go with the style that you feel most comfortable with. You will be the center of attention regardless of the wedding jewelry that you decide to wear that day.
Oh, and one more thing. If you decide on a piece of jewelry to represent “something blue” on your wedding day, a beautiful blue topaz, aquamarine, or sapphire pendant would certainly complement your dress.
Enjoy your special day!
