Hunterdon County Jeweler Starts New Trend in Shopping: In-Store Boutiques Bring Major Designers to Flemington, NJ (August 9, 2006 Flemington, NJ) When you walk into a jewelry store, you usually go to the cases, look at the beautiful pieces and take your pick. When you want high-end creations from well-renowned designers, many discretionary consumers from New Jersey have been forced to shop on New York’s Fifth Avenue. Not anymore. Roman Jewelers’ flagship store in Flemington has begun a new trend in shopping for jewelry. Major designers, including Cartier, Tag Heuer and Roberto Coin among others are opening unique boutiques inside the store.
Sophie Shor, Vice President of Roman Jewelers, says major designers are now beginning to look at Flemington as a center for fine jewelry. She explains, “Flemington has always been known for its wonderful selection of outlet stores. As we begin to bring the ‘best of the best’ lines of jewelry into our store, people are finding that they no longer have to go into the city to acquire pieces from major designers.”
The Cartier boutique and Tag Heuer boutiques are up and running in the Flemington store. Grand openings are planned for each in October. The Roberto Coin boutique will open in November. Both store locations recently have begun carrying the John Hardy collection as well.
