Hunterdon County Jeweler Elected to Board of Trustees for Hunterdon Medical Center Foundation (July 25, 2006 Flemington, NJ)  She has spent years of her professional life giving back to her community, especially when it comes to healthcare.  Now Sophie Shor, Vice President of Roman Jewelers, is continuing her passion in an official capacity.  Shor has been elected as a new member of the Board of Trustees for the Hunterdon Medical Center Foundation. Shor says it has long been her aspiration to promote a healthy lifestyle for the citizens of Hunterdon County and surrounding towns.  "While working on fundraising projects for the Hunterdon Medical Center, I have become acutely aware of the healthcare needs of our county.  I have had the privilege of supporting initiatives in the areas of women's heart health, breast cancer and maternity facilities.  I am extremely appreciative of the opportunity to work with the other members of the Board of Trustees on healthcare and illness prevention programs for our community." As Chair of the Foundation's Crystal Ball Committee last year, Shor helped raise $225,000 for Hunterdon Medical Center.  Roman Jewelers donated a cardiac monitor for special-needs newborns at the hospital and has held special fundraising sales at its Flemington store for the sole purpose of purchasing equipment for Hunterdon Medical Center.
